Safeguarding
Safeguarding Information
Blackwater Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
We ensure that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school.
Our priority is to ensure our school remains a safe place for learners, staff, visitors and all members of our school community and that everyone understand the measures in place to protect our learners as well as where to access support or help if they are worried about something.
What is Safeguarding?
Everyone at our school has a duty of care towards the welfare and safety of the children in our school.
Safeguarding means:
-
Protecting children from abuse and maltreatment.
-
Preventing harm to children’s health or development.
-
Ensuring children grow up with provision of safe and effective care.
-
Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes.
